As part of the European Youth Week (April 24 – May 1, 2026), a symbolic moment marking 30 years of European volunteering, a group of students from “Ion Ghica” College demonstrated that youth involvement can truly transform communities.
Inspired by the themes of Solidarity and Equity, as well as the values of the Erasmus+ project “SUSTAIN ”, the activity “Brăila Taste & Share” turned local consumption into a genuine act of social support. While through “SUSTAIN” we learned the importance of protecting resources and promoting green tourism, this year we took these principles further by focusing on social sustainability.
Through this initiative, the students proved that a sustainable community is not only about caring for the environment, but also about caring for people – ensuring equitable access to resources, empathy, and intergenerational support.
Together, we are building a better Europe, starting right from our community.
