Erasmus+ SUSTAIN Project Highlights Sustainable Gastronomy Through Country Presentations and Culinary Competition
As part of the Erasmus+ SUSTAIN project, students and teachers participated in a special intercultural activity focused on sustainable gastronomy and the culinary traditions of the partner countries.
During the event, participants delivered interactive country presentations showcasing traditional dishes and national food cultures. The presentations emphasized the importance of using local and seasonal ingredients, reducing food waste, promoting healthy and sustainable lifestyles, and strengthening the connection between gastronomy, culture, and community values.
The program continued with an engaging gastronomic competition, where international teams prepared and presented dishes inspired by the traditional cuisines of the partner countries. The jury evaluated the teams based on creativity, authenticity of taste, presentation, and the use of sustainable cooking methods.
The activity provided students with a valuable opportunity to explore cultural diversity while developing awareness about environmental responsibility and sustainable food practices. Through hands-on experiences and international collaboration, participants discovered how responsible eating habits and respect for local traditions can contribute to a more sustainable future.
The Erasmus+ SUSTAIN project continues to encourage cultural exchange, green education, and learning through practical experiences that inspire young people to become active contributors to sustainable development.
